Create a custom domain name for your azure file share

I would like to bring your attention to one of my previous blog post, where I am explaining the steps to create an azure local files share in your computer as a local drive. Please find it here: http://cloudcompute.info/use-an-azure-file-share-with-windows/

In this topic, I am explaining the steps to access it using a custom domain name. That means you need to change the file share ‘\manazsg.file.core.windows.net\manaznetshare’ to ‘\files.cloudcompute.info\manaznetshare’

You can achieve that by following the simple steps as below

  1. Create a CNAME record entry in your DNS zone. Add the name ‘files.cloudcompute.info’ there with value as
    ‘manazsg.file.core.windows.net’
  2. Now you should be able to access the share with the CNAME
